This is a chewing tobacco tin- made in 1879 with an engraved frog and a small compass that works nicely
Made by P. Lorillard- Patent 1878
In the background, there is a sun setting on the water and a sailing ship with an engraved L.
The condition on this is exceptional. See photos- there is just the smallest bit of plating loss at the edge of the tin where you would open it.
No dents or dings. No dark spots.
