Globen is based on an overlapping circle design made even more three-dimensional. A dome-like feature has been added to the center of the ceiling tile to take the global theme further. The inner dome feature makes room for a high hat or other flush mounted lighting feature.
You can get creative and perhaps add some lighting to Globen in its round center cavity.  The distance across the center bowl is 11 inches, and the photo shows a 7 1/2" diameter LED light. This technique works well with Globen and Europa. We advise that the lights must be supported from above, as the tiles should not support any weight, since that would cause distorting and lifting around the edges.  Some experimentation will be necessary to appropriately hang a lighting fixture.
This design pairs nicely with Europa tiles, as well as with Kreuzberg since the designs are based on complementary geometries. You can have all of the tiles face the same way, or like in the pictures alternate to have half of the tiles facing in opposite directions resulting in a deep 3-D look.
This ceiling tile design is suitable for gluing to a flat surface as all of the structure is on one side of the grid plane.
To further enhance their aesthetics, the surface of every Brutal tile has a linen texture.
Mineral fiber tiles may be placed above the tile wherever the tiles hang downwards for sound absorption.
