Moennig Artist Special Bassoon, exceptional condition w/ case, bocals, reeds

Description

Gebrüder Mönnig (Moennig) Artist Special bassoon serial number 10717 in very exceptional condition. Solid Czech mountain maple wood has no cracks, tenons are strong with cork in good condition. Lined bore and holes, whisper key lock, high D key, rollers, and joint-lock features. Pads are in good condition. This bassoon plays well and has good response and intonation. Comes with two #1 bocals, one Moennig original and another unknown maker. Comes with a very nice ProTec padded case, leather seat strap and ring, crutch, a few reeds, silk pull swab, and some books, see below.
The lacquer on this instrument is in very condition. Many Moennig Artist Special bassoons from the period have cracking lacquer, this one does not, and overall has very few scratches.
