    Description

Antique SWEET MIST Tobacco Store Dispenser that held Forty Eight 5 Cent Packages  with a stamped Patent Date of May 20, 1913 as printed on the cardboard can. The Sweet Mist Chewing Tobacco was manufactured by the Scotten Dillon Company in Detroit, Mich.  The cardboard store dispenser measures 11" high, 8 1/4" wide and 6 1/2" deep. It has a metal top and bottom with a hinged lid for customer  purchases. The litho scene pictures three young children frolicking around a water fountain splashing the mist on each other hence the name Sweet Mist. Being made of cardboard and metal not a lot of these old store dispensers have survived since the early 1900's and this example will show nicely in someone's collection of antique tobacciana......Please check all of our photos as to condition and contact us with any other question or concern.  Thank you..............   P.S. Per new E-bay restrictions on tobacco tins....this container is completely EMPTY and contains NO TOBACCO or RESIDUE.
